About Jesper Kikkenborg
Jesper Kikkenborg is a visual artist with a background deeply rooted in adventure and the natural world. Before art took over, he worked as a marine biologist, commercial diver, and underwater photographer for renowned platforms such as Discovery, DR, and TV2. His encounters with ocean giants – like in the film Giants of the Arctic Sea – shaped his eye for the dramatic and the beautiful in nature's raw encounters.
In 2015, he contributed video art to the World Expo in South Korea, and the following year he fully embraced life as a professional artist by founding his studio Kikkenborg. Since then, he has worked with both figurative and abstract pieces, often characterized by intense explosions of color and a search for the place where chaos and calm meet.
For Kikkenborg, art is about constant movement and the courage to challenge oneself – in both style and substance. As he says, inspired by David Bowie: "To reach the art, you must dare to step out into deep water and lose yourself."
